This weekend has been pretty good fun, went to watch a nervy game of Everton v’s Birmingham City, we won eventually 3-1, which was only decided in the 4th minute of extra time, 3 really well taken goals.

Had a few too many beers on Saturday night celebrating and played a bit of Eve + BE.

I’m pretty disappointed with BE atm, it seems to be lacking the umpfh that it had a few campaigns ago, the Axis seem to be struggling to come to the concept of playing since their overstock skills disappeared.

Hopefully they will get organised soon, their morale seems to be made of glass these days, too many nay-sayers and not enough cheerleaders over there these days, by all accounts their chat is just about how crap the HC are and how poor their equipment is.

Been there, seen it done it … /sigh.

As the Battleground Europe advances, I’m expecting many changes to come along, the next version has already been earmarked for Airgrid (previously Radar)

With this change in place, I then expect probably a great update for the Axis, possibly even coinciding with the Airgrid (1.28) and that would be their factories moving back away from the ground war.

At CRS at the moment is the ‘Air Grid’ technology, which in easy to understand terms is basically an overlay that highlights roughly where the planes currently are and it should cover the entire map.

It got me thinking about how awful the EWS is for the ground war, the first thing you know about an attack is that EWS goes off and you’ve got a truck with an ATG bearing down on you.

It then peaked my interest as to whether Air Grid could be implemented at the ground level, where instead of having EWS icons on towns you get the overlay that you can flick on and off the theatre map that shows the build up of players in an area, of course deciding on the actual size would be the difficult one. Would it take away the possible ’surprise attack’ element?

EWS currently says ‘Hey here we come’, where as having the overlay on say the theatre screen could say, ‘Hey here’s a big group cluster of players’.
